Funny you should say that. Disco owners haven't offered to join in and help.

See post 81:doh: they're all busy charging their camera batteries for some piccies & major p-taking when they then have to rescue the rescuer's:rolleyes:

Funny this thread should come up, I had to pull 2 Freelanders out of a ditch in my Discovery 3 door 3.5 V8 just before the snow melted away. A Freelander is the equivalent of a Ford Mondeo in 4X4 terms, a Discovery is like a Ferrari Enzo, and a Range Rover is like a Bugatti Veyron!

Spec:
Plough a bit wider than a Freelander, 12 inch each side.
Able to slant left or right
Plough must have wheels at the bottom, on the car side, to stop it hitting the ground (and to please the comment several posts ago)
Must be yella wiff black stripes
Easily attachable to the front of a Freelander. Don't mind if a permanent bracket is fitted to the front of the Freelander, as this means we could be called on at short notice. Sort of rapid reaction force.
Plough curved so the snow is pushed to one side, and scoops over it's self.
Stong, and up to the job. Like the Freelander pushing it.

more to follow as me finks it up.

Are you saying that cos yer freelander aint got the ground clearance to deal with more than an inch of snow, you gotta shift the snow out the way?:D:D:D

On a serious note I think you'll find that you woun't be able to do what you want. The freelander doesn't have a chassis to attach the plough to and the front lights would be obscured and there is nowhere on a freelander to relocate em. It looks like yer back to towing yer plough. You may struggle to build a rear towed plough due to Construction and Use type regs. We tend to be stricter here than most other countries.

Yep I'll pack a shovel just in case. Bit busy at the moment. Just been asked to help out an old friend over Christamas. He's worried if there's snow, he won't be able to get out and about so easily.

Does anyone know if you can legally fit a red fog light to the front of a Freelander 1?

why not fit some blues and keep a jet washer in the boot then you'll have all the emergency services covered
