Hi there,

I have a V reg Freelander and I'm pleased to say all was going well until now... all the sudden there is a load knock from the underneath rear when the car is cold and goes round a sharp corner. It seems to ease when the car is warmed up. Any Ideas?

Also for no reason I have been hit with the 3 amigos...any cure?

Thanks in advance.

The knock could be a sign of cracked chassis. Could be other things as well though. Search 'freelander chassis' for the possible fixes. I personally fabricated a strong plate to stop the bolt pulling through the chassis which was causing moving on the subframe.

Knocking could be VCU mounts, though usually a thump when engaging the clutch too, or the rear diff mounts, which is a cheap fix.

Loads of solutions to the three amigos, the wiring to the gearknob switch under the gaitor is another quick check.

Cheers

Blippie
