I wonder what decision @currycowboy is going to make/ has made in respect to the F1 versus F2 decision? I don't get the feeling of a clear winner from the discussion. Which probably means that the decision should boil down to the car you prefer of the two, and the one that will cause you least pain to repair (which may then depend on whether you maintain it yourself, or get someone else to do it)

Lower mileage, less corrosion easier and cheaper to maintain are massive plus points for me. Fl1 is a brilliant vehicle.
