err, you're confoosin me now!

we were recommending a Discovery!

As regards a Rusty Defender / 90, it depends on many things. If it's just the chassis, and the rest is good and you're mechanically handy and like a project, then they can be re-built onto a new chassis (even a galvanised one). If the rest of it is dodgy, then break it for spares and buy a replacement.

hubby has an old Landy Series 3 88 what a prat! Helps if I get it right, sorry brain is f***** with bad gaylander stuff

if he gave you a receipt stating 'sold as seen with no warranty implied or given' or words to that effect then you're stuffed if you signed it too.if not then you still have redress under the sale of goods act which i am led to believe applies to secondhand private vendor goods too.if he still won't play ball then take him to court,if all else fails give him a good shoeing!

it would help you immensely if you could show that he is a trader posing as a private seller because if he is a trader you've got him by the bollocks.

Many thanks for advice. Receipt states "sold as seen", he signed it but I didn't.
I did ask him if the car had ever had a head gasket problem and he said no.
I have no reason to believe seller is a trader. He owned the car for 6 years and he's not selling anything else on ebay!

i concur with trewy and Grippa. get yo mney back - trading standards - try it all - worth a small claims fur 3 grand.
