Hi from Ian,I have a 2010 freelander 2 onto which i am puting 2 inch lift all round. I want to put BF Goodrich mud terain tyres on it and want to know what are the biggest size tyres I can put on. I did this with my L200 and it looked and handled fine. It more than likely wont go off road just like the L200. I just like the look so any info on wheels and tyres would be great. Thanks in advance, Ian

For a road only vehicle, mud tyres are a bad idea. They're noisy, especially on a unibody vehicle like the Freelander. They also have about 50% less grip than the factory Michelin tyres it came with.

Also the suspension components aren't beefy like an L200, the FL2 is basically a Ford Mondeo, so will suffer accelerated bush and bearing wear with the increased loads of heavy mud tyres, not to mention it'll ruin what is a very refined car.

If you must mess with it, then take advice from Warren at Muddy Mods. ;)

Hi again from Ian, All the info you have given me I already know But thanks anyway. Still require answer to origenal question and I cant believe that there is no one on here that has already done the lift and bigger tyre thing. Thanks again from Ian.

It is a bad idea to fit mud tires to a FL2 for road use. I wouldn't bother with the lift anorl.

If you put factory fit 19 inch wheels on yer FL2, and factory fit continental cross contact 4x4 uhp tires on them, inflated to 35psi as per the owners manwell, you will feel the tread pattern when driving. The fix is to run them at 32psi instead. That's what LR main dealers suggest. Fitting mud tires would be horrible on road.

Hi again from Ian, I know you guys know A hell of a lot more than me and I value your Advice about not doing this and that but without trying to sound rude, I have run on mud tyres for several years and what ever I do to the car and what ever it costs me to put back right or get rid and get something else I will put down to my own daftness and move on. All I want to know is what are the biggest BF GOODRICH mud terrain tyres can I put on with a 2 inch lift front and back. Is there anyone that has done this and what was the outcome of doing it,That I would like to hear about. Please dont think I am beeing funny about this cos I just want to give it a go and see what its like. Thanks from Ian...........

Few peeps have done the mod yer looking at. As above ask mm.
