I've just replaced the turbo on my freelander 1 td4, the old 1 was all to hell. I've drained the sump, drilled a hole in the front box of the exhaust to drain the oil, I've also taken it for a spin around the village,it's leaving a very nasty white fog cloud wherever it goes, how long will it take to burn the old oil out of the system?

If there was enough oil in the exhaust, that it needed draining though a drilled hole, then it's going to take a very long time to clear out. It would be better to simply replace the exhaust system, as the rear will never get hot enough to burn the oil out.
