Yes same garage and yes I'm guessing they don't have a clue it went to a garage as I needed it done quickly a week later still no further in getting it back. Think it will have to go somewhere else
Hi Fizz,
Welcome to the fun world of Freelander driving.
I know that this might be a bit sexist, but I had to get my mechanically minded brother to intervene for me when my clutch went; may be worth trying something similar?
There are some really good mechanics out there, it's just a bitch of a job finding one.
When you do, hang on to him/her, but sounds like you need to change garage, preferably to one that actually likes working on 4 x4s.
Good luck

With a multi meter try checking the voltage of the battery when you try to start it. If it's below 12v there's your problem. I had a similar problem with mine and it was at about 10 to 8 volts when I tried to start it. If it still has it's original battery it migh be time for an upgrade. My battery was rated to about 690 Cold Crank Ampere (CCA). So I replaced it with a 800CCA rated battery and started first time.
I hope you get it fixed soon.

If they replaced the clutch then they will have dropped the engine, disconnected lots of stuff, then pushed and shoved lots of stuff around.
It could be just a bad connection somewhere or a damaged cable.
Kinda hard for them to say it was nothing they did without having even seen it at that point.

Well folks 7 weeks later and it's still at garage with them saying they still don't know what's wrong they gave me a courtesy car which is really clocking the miles. Beginning to think I will never get my car back

My point exactly car was fine before new clutch fitted no problems whatsoever, and yes I think the same as you but all they say is it's coming up with no faults
