freelander td4 drumming noise while traveling ,worse at low speed

Hello,ill be straight to the point. for months now i have had this noise that was a kind of soft drumming sound when the car was moving and it was worse between 15 to 25 mph. once up to speed it was still there but not as noticeable and just a steady noisy rumble when on the motorway. i read lots of posts about it and like others it was driving me nuts. so i took it to a dedicated 4x4 garage and the mechanic had a run and said straight away.its your tyres. so when we stopped he showed me a flat spot or lump on the rear tyre. he changed the tyre and the noise has now gone.so i just thought id share this with others with similar problems. great site very helpfull keep up the great postings.

Tyres should be changed in pairs at the minimum. Preferably all 4.
At the least go and get an identical tyre on the other side, or your going to get a big repair bill somewhere down the line.
