Freelander 1 Freelander sunroof seal

Hi all does anyone know if the disco 3 use the same sunroof mechanism and glass. As a Freeland 1 2005. Trying to find a seal for the glass on mine. And vaguely remember reading some where that they both suffer same proplems. Which has made me think that both models use the same unit

Just looked, pictures look totally different. Operation principle seems the same.

Shame as there are loads more Disco 3 sunroofs about.

Shame was hoping could use glass seal off disco 3 if a bit longer I could shorten it it should still join at the cut

The D3 doesn't use the same system as the FL1. There's no seal on the D3 glass, as it seals internally. The FL2 is the same as the D3 too, so no joy there.
However if yours is leaking, it's more than the seal at the edge of the glass, as that seal is for wind noise reduction, and help reduce the amount of water through, but still allow some water through. This is why the sunroof assembly has gutters and drains inside the vehicle. So if you are getting water inside, then either there's an issue with the gutters, or the drains are blocked.

Hi nodge68 drains all clear. Amount of water getting through is like it’s open but fully closed. That’s what makes me think glass seal
