A year ago I purchased a 2003 Freelander TD4 SE.

While still under after sale warranty I had to have my garage look at the recurring intermittent TC and HD lights on dashboard.

The problem was solved and repaired but the vehicle steering had developed a distinct 'pull' to the left. This was explored on a quiet rural road which has a near perfect surface and slight camber on both sides.

The fault was so bad it would pull the car out of the right hand side of the road and across to the left. The steering holds very steady with hard braking while freewheeling or under drive, but without braking the pull is constant to the left. with the steering having to be held into 5 degree to the right position by a pull.

The service manager tells me, very frustratingly, that all 4X4's pull due to the differential entry of the drive shaft into the wheel shafts.

Can you advise me if this is correct?

name and shame that dealer!

Even it was a steering fault its a good design on the hippo, it can be replaced very easily, without upsetting the tracking.

I think that Blippies avatar is actually a picture of the dealer in question "fixing" your TC & HDC lights. If it is it could explain the pull...

Cheers
