HiGuys, after some help as non mechanically minded... my 2002 freelander td4 has developed a annoying squeak coming from what sounds like the front. Weird thing is if I pull the handbrake a little it stops for about 30 seconds and then comes back. Pull the handbrake and it goes again. It's just gone through a MOT with no problems and when I asked the garage about the squeak they said it's passed so nothing to worry about.. any ideas as it is so annoying.

Thanks in advance

That's for sure!

Mine has developed a quite nasty sounding creak/groan from the front suspension of the the last couple of days. Hopefully by the weekend it will have disappeared and I won't have to try and work out what its coming from :)

Check the big bushes at the rear of the front suspension arm (where they fit to chassis). Mine did this, sprayed them with washing up liquid and it stopped, for a few weeks ! Replacement solved it permanently - till the next time !

I found that both front brake back plates had come adrift due to corrosion but were still roughly in place, removing them stopped the noise from the front end.

I suppose the washing up liquid will confirm its the bushes - then its known what to replace. I shall try that cheers :)

Any luck??
I took the dog up to a park - it has speed bumps most horribleous on the access road - they are really aggressive ones that you almost have to stop for - and they are in pairs and there's 3 sets - grrrr. Anyway, going over these bumps its obvious the noise is coming from the rear not front. Giving the car a good rock side to side doesn't make any noises. However - that is as far as I've got in my diagnosis :) When I've had these grumbles in the past, I've always given them time and they go - so I'm giving this one some time - it is persistent though - so I may have to do something about it!
