 Will the spot light pods from '04 MY Freelanders fit pre face lift models? Don't mind a bit of fiddling to get there.....

Im in the same boat, I want some spots too, dunno which is the best route to go though, them pod type things, spot light brackets or get an A bar & put some on that?
I enquired about 04 spot pods but the bloke just said they wont fit earlier models, no explanation or owt just they wont fit.

ah i know what you guys are up 2!!

Theres loads of them going very cheap on ebay at the mo!

i got some for mine for only £26!!!! when from Land Rover there £241(+vat) ;)

Hiya stownrow,
Whats that for then? the pod type ones? if so have you fitted them to a `98 > 2000 freelander & if so how do they fit ?

pod ones for a 2004 onwards! i dont think they will fit the earlier ones without heavy modification....

I see the pods on ebay good buy I think
wot I have is stainless A bar plus eight inch spot
lights to fit all pre face lift models paid 110 accept 110 wont fit my 53 plate

 Just taken delivery of '04 spot lights (£13 off t' e-bay). I have got Monday off work in order to fit them (all being well). Will update as to any problems with fitting them to an '02. They WILL fit......

I'm sure they WILL fit! but fit and look good is another matter! :D

Don't see why they wouldn't fit. Wiring loom seems ok and they look ded gud when I sort of just hold them on the bumper.....
Just hope there is room behind the bumper when I make that fatal cut into it

Ok mate good luck! there should be space behind the bumper :)

:) Good news!!!!! The spot lights do fit. There is plenty of room behind the bumper, even with a pre-heater. The angle of the pods mean that they fit best at the extreme edges of the bumper, which is ideal as they miss the re-enforcing bar behind.
Supplied switches will fit in the blanks on the centre consol (if you have any) but I had to make a bracket to fit over the storage thing at the far right of the dash to mount the switch. Wiring loom is exact fit.
Only draw back is lack of lateral adjustment, but can be rectified by elongating lamp bracket fixings where lamp screws to bracket. Easy.
If I work out how to attach photos, I might just do so.....

Main thing is making sure they are at the same position on each side. Measure up from as many fixed points as poss when fixing templates. All in all its not a difficult job, the hardest part is having the b******s to make the initial cut into the expensive front bumper.........
