Freelander problem, not turning over, just dead then suddenly it will start???

Hi not sure if i should post this here but it said it would be moved if wrong so sorry if its in the wrong place.
My problem started about 6months ago. First i started to hear my fuel pump making a really loud noise then the car wouldnt turn over, when i turned the key nothing no noise just dead. After between 10 and 20 tries it would just start (not turn over for a while just start). At the garage they fitted me a new fuel pump. It seemed ok for a couple of days but then started again. I had my battery checked but that was fine. Now a light came on on the dash engine malfunction with exclamation mark. This time it went on a landrover diagnostics machine and it came back that it was the turbo, this was sorted out and the light went of and everything was fine now after 3 months i went out today and it was dead, no turning over then after a few attempts it started. Theres no light on at the moment but not everytime but most times its just dead again. Checked battery its fine not sure what to do anymore just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this, thanks in advance

As you have a Freelander you might want to try posting your problem in the section headed 'Freelander'.

Meanwhile - Has your garage ever checked your ignition switch, starter motor, solenoid and engine earths? In other words if your ignition (a switch) is not operating your starter (an electric motor) then I'd be checking this area first.
