Hello, I need to top up some power steering fluid for my Freelander 2.0 turbo diesel (the rover engine).

The shop in my village says I could use a Volvo 1161540 (this one being for AW50-42LE). According to the manual I need to use a dexron iid/iii compatible fluid, but I couldn't find whether the volvo one is ok.

Do you know how I could check if it is ok and/or dexron iid/iii compatible?

Thanks very much!

Don't use your village shop. If you have to go anywhere, other than a motor factors, then use halfords. Dll or Dlll is the correct fluid. It's very common, used in loads of auto gearboxs.
