Those earlier l200 in your photos are by far the best that Mitsi ever produced i don't ever recall having any issues with them up to 05 when i finished at mitsi. 4m40 which i guess the engine is in your l2 were a really good motor. The earlier motors 4d56 seem to suffer more from cracked camshafts at high miles. I would buy one if i had a need for one. The latest l200 however diesel has issues with the inlet manifold carboning from new which will no doubt let them down and give them a bad name in time. We were advised by Mitsi NZ that they had to be removed and acid dipped every 20k

me old site manager had a l200 trojan, went well but the ride was a bit strange, loads of feedback through the steering.

Here is something slightly different and I know its a big ask. Does anyone know whether a Shogun can be transplanted onto a Land Rover chassis? (any type) The situation is that a friend purchased a beautiful looking White Shogun on eBay from a bloke who claimed to be a Jehovas Witness. Maybe this was a bad joke, anyway the chassis was holey, holey, holey! The enraged buyer complained to VOSA about a "bent MOT" but all this achieved was him getting a Prohibition Notice. He has had garages have goes at fixing it but this just caused more bills without achieving anything so I'd estimate that the vehicle must now owe him £2,500 to £3,000 maybe more. I've looked at the chassis myself and its extremely thin. There are holes and inside the holes there are vast quantities of scaly rust which can be raked out. Its an absolute tragedy but where do we go from here?

Sell what you have on ebay in bits and start again with another vehicle. If you build something strange you may struggle to sell it later on, or even insure it now. Have you thought about getting a Freelander?
