hi
Hope someone can point me in the right direction here.
I was driving Freelander2 TD4 (not sure of year) and suddenly there was a loud bang from the engine. Then it was misfiring. Not badly, just like one cylinder missing every now and again. I got home ok.
It also sounds like an exhaust fault, ie loud, but i cant see any breaks or faults in the exhaust pipe.
no warning lights on the dash or anything.
Any ideas? Turbo? I dont know?
Thanks
James

The list of potential issues is enormous, like inlet manifold dropped a swirl flap, which has bent a valve, giving the symptoms you now have. It could also be a boost pipe split, injector faulty, throttle body faulty, and so on.

It won't be the rocker shaft though, as it doesn't have one.;)
