i just got a y reg freelander 1800 3 door, nice motor but, just bought the back box and centre exhaust went to fit it and the front part is knacked,
there is a cat on the downpipe manifold and then flexi pipe is this a second cat? got quoted £230 for this but it seems a bit much

second problem

this car is so hard to push, its like it got the handbrake stuck on, i live on a hill and had to push it down the hill,
had both rear wheels of the floor and checked brakes there fine but when i turn one wheel the other turns oppiste which is good but real stiff to turn, could this be a diff problem

3rd problem

the hill desent stays on the dash, you can play with the switch but doesnt take it off any ideas and will this cause the problem for the second problem above cheers guys

Dunno about the exhaust bits - I'm sure someone else will help though.

You should search for the tippex test and check out the VCU. You will find some piccies to help you identify it.

The HDC switch is an easy check. If you remove the gaiter around the gearstick and look at the connections and the state of the wires. Sometimes these wear through and can short which would cause the HDC light to be on all the time. Could be a knackered switch which is an easy replace.

so if the vcu id duff and this car never leaves tarmac would it go better in 2wd how do i go about doing that please thanks

How do you know the vcu is duff? A good vcu will be stiff to turn.
To put it in 2wd just remove the props and vcu and blank-off the IRD, and inform your insurance company.
