i have a 1.8 1998 freelander jumped in to start it the other morning and the engine wouldnt turn over, seamed as if it was sized pulled the bonet and noticed there was no water in the tank. So being a mechanic I thought i would start and pull the head of thinking its got to be the problem. So to cut along story short got head skimed and fitted new multi layered gasket etc built it all up and went to start it again and i had the same problem as before, have checked the timing and it seams ok would appreciate any help or has any one els ever dicovered this problem.

Its a gaylander why would you want it to start, no seriously repost it in the freelander section and i am sure you will get some help from the freelander gang, good luck
