Hi All,

I recently loaned a Freelander (not bad as a car i spose) and noticed a green arrow on the dash that kept flashing on and off.

I gathered that it was something to do with acceleration but forgot to ask the dealer what it was for.

Anybody care to enlighten me?

I'd have definitely noticed if hill descent was on.

Can you even drive at speed with it on?

:nopics:

So where is this infamous arrow pointing upwards?

I found it - it's an upshift light.........

"A prominent green 'upshift' arrow has also been added to the dashboard, which illuminates when the car’s computer works out that a higher gear would be more economical."

Must have been an "e" model that I had - Although the engine didn't stop when I sat at traffic lights.

ah, freelander 2 then, not freelander

for the record:

you can drive normally with HDC switched on, it only operates in 1st and reverse, and if you touch throttle brake or clutch, is disengages automatically anyway.

You do apear to own a r/r though - aren't they similar to bmw's? lack of indicators, drivers think they own the road, etc.

ooooh where'd that come from? - have I offended you somehow?

Oh, how silly of me - of course I've offended you - I own a Range Rover.

There certainly appears to be a lot of RR envy on this forum.

You wishing you could afford one?
