Hi all

i have a 2000 year freelander as you are well-aware off , and am thinking of sometime this year in doing IE: a front conversion to a 2005 front ~ has anyone done this and is it a straight forward job do the front headlights and front bumper go in place exactly the same as the older model with the less impressive look of them horrible black bumper hear is a picture of mine and a picture of the freelander i want mine to look like when completed

Adam

Its not hard to do. The parts will cost you, not much change out of £1k after colour coding spray. You simply undo the bolts and brackets from the main chassis and bolt in the newer versions. The FL1 chassis is the same throughout the range. I have converted a commercial to seated version.

this sure as hell gonna be a bastard to do. You're looking at long hours, months and months in the body shop, cutting, welding, grinding, filling, priming, flatting, spraying and polishing. Then the structure will always be weak, and you might need to get SVA for the conversion from a 3 door to a 5 door.........

What do you mean??? He only asked about the bumpers not 3dr to 5dr?

That's the FL that was converted.............I'll find the yahoo addy eventually.........I may have to make a phone call :) So you may have to wait till 2moro.

Whats that thing on his roof?? He has even done serious modding of the roof bars (4 sets of them) it must be a tent or hairdresser shop.

Does look better than the 2005 models though, without that thing on the roof.

Re: "What do you mean??? He only asked about the bumpers not 3dr to 5dr?" The original post had a picture of his 3 door, and he was saying he wanted to make it look the same as the other picture, which whilst having an updated front end, was a 5 door. I replied with my tongue firmly in my cheek that it would be tricky to change from a 3 door to a 5 door. Then with perfect comic timing, he then edited his orginal post and changed the picture to a different one which wasn't 5 door, with the net result no-one has a f**kin clue what I was going on about.
