Freelander cuts out

Freelander 1998 D cuts out when at a junction then cant start it, pressed the engine cut out ..ok... starter turns but something strange "the indicators don't work either?" it suddenly works and goes for ages ..then again it stops? any Ideas????:whoosh:

Happened again today driving along, then nothing!! no indicators brake lights ...Nowt..... anyone got any ideas?
