Freelander cooling fans

On one of the threads recently I thought it said that after 10 mins or so the cooling fans should come on was that correct or did I dream it.

The car has been idling for over 15min now and top hose very hot to touch but signs of fans is this correct?

I thought the fans work on temperature ?

ie .. only come on when engine gets too hot.

my td4 has been left running on tick over for over an hour before and they kicked in after 20 mins.

all depends on the outside temp also

Aha thanks

Until I get a proper temperature sensor I don't know if its too hot or not. Except it feel damn hot on the top hose.

Guage never goes above just below horizontal, but that be relied on?

switch your aircon on and both fans should kice in so you know they are working
