my 1998 freelander xedi locks don't work,i have to unlock the drivers door with the key,but can not unlock any off the other doors at all they seem to be deadlocked, the fob will lock the drivers door once opened but will not reopen, the fob will arm and disarm the alarm ok but not the locking, also the rear door will only open if you fully open the rear window first. has anyone got any ideas what could be causing it. cheers

Owdoo.

Post it in here and you're more likely to get a sensible response. ;)

Land Rover Freelander - Land Rover Zone

Not sure of the cause of the prob though other than change the battery but as I say, ask in the freelander section. :)

drivers door lock is almost without a doubt a failed solenoid within the lock.

it is possible to change the solenoid rather that the whole lock, but it's a long arduous procedure, assuming you can get the correct solenoid.

much better to replace the whole lock assembly, which should be around £65 depending on source. takes about an hour to change, but technically not challenging, all the electrics to the lock are on a multi plug.

the other issues could also be down to faulty lock assemblies.

HOWEVER,

I would start with the drivers lock which deffo needs changing then move on from there.

It is unlikely to be a fob battery - the dashboard bleeps and LED flashes when you unlock if the battery is going flat.
good luck
