Hi the bonnet release on my Freelander need to be pulled up a long way before the bonnet pops - anyone know if there is a cable adjustment for this and if do where? Cheers

So does mine on the older Freelander and it never produces any click or bonnet pop to show that its worked (but it does) I just put it down to cable stretch but hopefully there is some adjustment available.

Just checked RAVE and there doesn't appear to be any adjustment, I guess all that can be done is to put a packer behind the cable end where it attaches to the interior handle or cut off the cable end and fit a newer one on a bit further down.

Yeh I took off both the lever and the bonnet plate to have a look - it's a bit flimsy to say the least. I don't know how you would open the bonnet if it snapped!

I will have a go at modifying the cable holder at the bonnet release lever one day - it would feel a lot better if it opened without so much lever travel

think you will find the bonnet end of the cable is rusty and does not enter the outer, this then bends the bracket in the car until you realise one day the travel is excessive, then a few pulls later the cable snaps at the rust and you are fu...ed.
But there are posts on here explaining how to get the bonnet open.
but for 11 notes perhaps you ought to invest in a new cable, straighten the bracket in the car and all will be well until the next time!!!!!!!!!!1
