So can anyone tell me for sure? Is the radio (which is the karman harden type with sat nav) supposed to go off after the ignition key is removed, as mine will stay on unless I turn it off and I wondered is that normall I also don't have the code so im a little nervous to remove it and start trying to find out why and try n fix it if it has been wired wrong.
I have only had the car 6 mths and cant remember when I got it if the radio went off or not and then I had halfords fit a (Pure) Bluetooth hands free kit. which works through the radio and I keep forgetting to turn off the radio.
im wondering if halfords have messed with it or if its normall for it to stay on Help please?????

Yes it is supposed to go off. It's a fault which has been mentioned before. From memory, only replacing it cured the fault.
The nav unit is actually made by Becker, but the speakers and amp are Harmon Kardon.

IMHO replacing the HU like for like is pointless. I'd just fit a decent standard DIN HU instead.

Just popped out to check mine; it stays on. I've had it for two years and as far as I recall it has always worked with the ignition off.

The Becker unit in my Mum’s Freelander stays on for around 5 seconds after the ignition is turned off and then it automatically turns off.

Sounds as if the permanent and ignition feed have been swapped around on yours
