Just aquired a 2011 Freelander 2 and the radio has no signal. The CD player works fine but the radio does not tune, just a little signal hiss so I suspect the aerial connection. There are no removal holes at the side of the radio and I am trying to remove the facia around the radio.I have removed the torque screws at the top and the lower fascia will come away but the centale facia is proving stubborn. Anybody any pointers on getting to the rear of the radio?

Does the car have aftermarket window tints as these interfere with the radio signal or in some cases during the installation the aerial tracks on the glass are cut through

Thanx for the ideas. I have worked out how to remove the radio and can confirm that the radio is working fine with a piece of wire in the aerial socket.
The aerial lead is connected and it is connected to the radio antenna box behind the offside rear fascia but the radio does not tune so I suspect the aerial lead has been cut/broken. The vehicle is ex police bought at auction and I'm guessing the police vehicle preparation team disable the in car radio to stop the cops listening to BBC 2 Popmaster.

If you have a multimeter you can check for resistance down the coax cable from head unit to rear window and see if it’s in one piece.

I can’t remember if there’s a join in the wire - if I get 5 I’ll look at the wiring diagrams and let you know

How many presets has the radio got - 6 or 10?
