Freelander 2 pipe location

Hi,

Wondered if any knew what these two pipes are and what they should be connected to,
Just had rear main seal done so I'm guessing something hasn't bee put back properly?

They should be at the back of the engine, on brackets. They're breathers for the PTU and gearbox IIRC.

That's good news then thanks, so it doesn't really matter if they stay where they are? The thin black one is on a bracket connected to the gearbox so that seems in the correct position.
Also since having the seal done the engine seems to vibrate the car more and under load you can feel it under the seat?
