Haven`t used my Freelander 2 much since New Year apart from a couple of short drives just around the block to keep the wheels turning ;-)

Got in it today and noticed that the anticipated mileage range was missing. I am sure it used to mention how many miles worth of driving were left in the tank.

I drove the car into town this morning and put £20 worth of diesel in the tank in the hope this would move the sender unit ( I appreciate the sender unit only sends a signal to the fuel gauge, which appears to be functioning correctly ) and prompt a reaction. It moved the fuel gauge reading from just under half full to just over half full.

I returned home after a round trip of about ten miles and the mileage display was still blank. See attached photo, there should be an anticipated mileage reading just below the temperature reading if I recall correctly.

Is there a reset or is this an issue that needs further investigation?

Many thanks in advance for your replies and offers of help.

Just cycle through the display screens, until you get to the screen you want to see.
You have blank, with temperature only, "i" for Information, miles since trip Ometer No2 was reset, average MPG, and range remaining in the tank.
Your display is currently on the blank screen. ;)

Thank you very much Nodge68 for taking the time to reply ;)

Well how emabrrassing is that , one question though, how do I cycle through the display screens? The two buttons at the bottom of the rev counter are none functional and sit below the clear plastic screen, the button below the total mileage reading just resets the trip mileage back to zero.

Many thanks ;)

End of the LH (indicators) stalk is a button with an i on it, pressing this button cycles through the display screen. ;)

Many thanks Stv123 & Nodge68 for your replies.

Please accept my apologies for my ignorance. I have now restored the "range remaining in the tank" display. Thank you :)

"Take a look at the owners handbook. The Freelander 2 has loads of stuff, which takes lots of reading to discover it all. ;)"

Yep, there is a big wide folder/wallet in the glove box containing service booklets and handbooks etc, I really must acquaint myself with their contents ;)
