Dear Learned People.
I am in need of a little help.

Freelander 2 - 2011 - In the last 2 months it sometimes flags the Reduced Power warning and then drops the power off. It also sometimes produces the warning and does not drop the power off. It also sometimes puts the engine warning light on and reduces power but does not flag the reduced power warning.
You can stop the car and then restart the car and in most cases it goes away.

Starting to get a little confused....and pointers.....

A diagnostic read is your friend. ;)
The engine electronics are too complicated to simply try to guess the issue.
However there are a few usual suspects for such warnings.
The throttle body gears are known to give trouble.
The crank sensor can go intermittent, but that is often accompanied by an occasional misfire.
The turbo actuator can also give trouble, and or the turbo vanes go sticky, causing over or under boost conditions, which upsets the ECM.
However a diagnostic read is the only way to identify the actual issue.

Update for anyone - I did what Nodge68 wisely told me to do and we actual found that the issue was the pressure switch on the DPF filter. New switch fitted - regen and all running fine.
