2009 freelander cd player 1cdx alpine speakers and subwoofer

The cd player won't turn on it flashes landrover then goes back off, this is connected to the nav screen which also keeps flashing on and off, took it to landrover and they said it was the head units so purchased another "working" head unit and still the same

Has anyone else had the same problems or advise further as don't want to go back to the stealers

Anyone near you with an IID diagnostic tool? Sounds like you need the codes read. Maybe it needs a software update?

It had been to stratstone landrover and it was them who said it was the head unit, what needs the software update as I put another head unit in and still get the same problem, is there more stuff connected to the system, thanks

The MOST system (fibre optics) isn't working and that's why it cycles on and then off

Need to check MOST for light at the following places:

Bluetooth
Amp
Nav computer
Headunit
DAB

You might not have all of them fitted but it's basically a loop of fibre optic which needs to be complete for the system to work

Thanks for that, how would I check that the fibre optic was working on each component,is there anything I can see or does it need to be diagnosed with a computer

It's a red light but don't look directly at it

Twin orange "cable" in one connector on those modules

System needs to be "on" for the light to be transmitted and check each one in turn

I've checked the head unit, dvd unit under drivers seat and the fibre both has red light, checked the amp, Bluetooth module and no light, is there a order in which the light travel through each bit of equipment to determine which is at fault, no dab unit

Thanks

Sequence is

Nav to amp to phone to head unit to face panel to screen to nav

So assuming that you have the system plugged in and powered up the issue lies with the nav computer - shared fuse with the screen and that’s working

Search on eBay for a MOST bypass or prism and this can be used to loop out the defective modules to determine which is faulty

Great thanks for your help, is the nav computer under the driver's seat or is that just the dvd drive, i thought if the red light was transmitted from the nav computer the amp or bluetooth module would be at fault or am I missing something, how does the most bypass work.

Thanks

Nav computer is under the drivers seat - the red light is only the inbound that you can see when you disconnect the fibre optic connector.

MOST is a ring system where the module takes the input and then passes it on. By fitting a most bypass it removes the module from the ring and confirms if it is faulty or not.

As the nav computer feeds the amp and the amp is not getting a red light then that to me points that the problem is with the nav computer.

Be worth rechecking the most feed to the amp and the nav computer has power

Now then did you ever get this sorted I've the exact same problems with the one I've just baught.

I've tried a new head unit also the red light was present
I then tried a diagnostic tool on it and the only thing that had any faults to read was the amp, I've tried an amp today and its still the same but I did notice the red lights were not present at amp and also on the unit that mounts also to the amp bracket.

I don't have a sat nav system fitted and I can't seem to locate the wiring for one so I presume it's never had one.

Can anyone suggest anything else I could check?
