Freelander 2 bonnet thinks it's open when it isn't

Almost every time I change either headlamp halogen bulb on my Freelander 2 SDI (2013) it tells me the bonnet isn't properly closed when it is and as a result won't remotely lock the doors. Shoving the headlamp and multiple re-closing of the bonnet finally overcomes this. I think moving the headlamp unit is causing a sensor to malfunction? Help appreciated on how to resolve this annoying problem.

When I got mine it regularly set the alarm off so I just linked it out. I don’t need a message on the dash to tell me the bonnet is open. Think they are readily available and quite easy to change. Just take the right headlight out to get to it.

Thanks, the main problem is that when this happens the doors won't lock. I don't know what the sensor looks like but should be able to find a picture.

It’s a while back when I did mine but as I recall it’s part of the bonnet catch. I just unplugged it and linked out the socket with a piece of wire.
Think it’s just behind the power steering bottle.

Thanks a lot, will check.
