Freelander 2.0td4 2003

Hi all new here just bought a 2003 freelander 2.0td4 manual 95kmiles i have a couple of faults dont know if anyone can help??

1. i think my f/o/s wheel bearing is going i have a rumpling noise around 50mph from that area is it common how hard are they to change or is it something else as the wheel seems to have no play???

2. when i pull the hdc trigger on the gear knob i dont get any lights come up at all even if i drop it in 1st or revers2?? normal or not and if i accelerate on grass to activate the tc i dont seem to be getting the tc light on which im sure should flash when the wheels slip????


I hope someone can shed some light on this, as other than that theose 2 problems she drives fantastic nice mud chugger!!

Hey guys fixed the no hill climb light issue it was a wire broken offf the conector block under gear knob shroud awesome so on issue fixed,
Still stuck on the noise from the front i have had the car up on a ramp and there appears to be no play in any of the wheels???? i have got some all terrain tyres on the front which i thought might be noisy so i have put them to the rear and there is still a slight rumble not sure if it now sound as though its coming from the rear where i have moved the all terrain tyres to so more investigation needed lol

sounds like the tyres then, do you have access to another Freelander to borrow it's wheels for a test drive?
