Freelander 1 wheel centre size?

You won't be able to fit a wheel with a smaller hub bore onto a larger hub spigot, regardless of how small the difference.
So you need wheels where the hub bore and spigot are the same. The wheels are held in correct alignment by the spigot, so it's important they match exactly.

The question was about the FL1 hub size. Many think 63mm but docs say 64.1mm. A wheel with 63mm will almost certainly fit as it will be slightly worn in the centre, it also means that if the FL1 is 64mm then it either won't fit or will be tight -so safe. Agree that fitting wrong size is a no no....

Erm, bit of a contradiction there.

Are you saying that it is safe to fit a wheel that has lost over 1/2 a mm of metal to wear? (which I would have thought is highly unlikely to happen on a correctly fitting wheel).

For sure, try the wheel up, but if it has any wear or does not fit tightly and correctly - then do not use it.

Yes, I thought that when I wrote it ! I know what I mean !! Just saying if it fits tight it is ok. If it doesn't fit then that is also safe !!
Many Freelander spacers state 63mm, not that I endorse spacers. Be interesting to measure the wheel and the hub ring as identical dimensions do not fit into each other. Maybe one spec is the hub and the other is the wheel ??

The Freelander 1 uses a 64.1mm hub centre spigot with a PCD of 5 X 114.3mm. The studs are M12 X 1.5mm.
The FL1 hub is a Honda size, which probably originated from this mythical collaboration between Rover and Honda over a design share.

The Freelander 2 uses a 63.4mm hub centre spigot, with a PCD of 5 X 108. The studs are M14 X 1.5mm. The FL2 uses is a Ford size hub assembly.
