Does anyone know how i can turn the traction control off on my freelander 1? Its a 2002 1.8 petrol. I got stuck in the mud and had to rescue it with my vivaro van.

When your wheels are spinning and traction control activates to pulse brake them, power is then fed into the wheels with grip. If all 4 wheels are without grip, then traction control will continue to pulse brake spinning wheels to allow them to slowly turn and slowly regain traction if they can. If they can't, your stuck. You'd be worse off with traction control dissabled.

Were your rear wheels turning? Do you have props/vcu fitted?

i think the op has no feckin clue hippo that prob went straight over his head

qs is how did he get into that situation to get stuck but his vivaro van got him out of the situation:pound:

There are ways to disable the traction control but if you do this your changing the way the Freelander will operate. Will effect the brakes too. So the insurance company will need to be told. It's dangerous too hence why I int put up the method.

If the OP sticks around for a bit we'll teach him all he needs to know about Freelanders and keeping them going. :)

The tratterers will do their best to do the opersit. :(
