freelander 1 td4 05 cutting out

hi all
my Freelander is trying to cut out as I'm driving it and the engine management light comes on
when it splutters, it does stop completely at some junctions
this problem has come and gone for over a year now, but it got worse
things done last year...new h/p pump, new fuel filter, cleaning of pick up in-tank pump.
Any thoughts much appreciated

fuel pressure sensor harness?
Engine management light......read codes first though
