OK, so, how best to go around taking 15-20mm out of the ride height of a K-series...

H&R do a set of springs, but no difference between 1.8, V6 and diesel models...

Seeing as there is a 200kg difference between 1.8 and KV6, something doesnt quite add up...

The KV6 engine weighs around 150 Kg's. The 1.8 is around 75 Kg's so that's 75 Kg's difference. The the KV6 auto box weighs around 95 Kg's V's the 35 Kg's for the 1.8 manual box so that's another 60 Kg's. That makes the power unit something like 135 Kg's lighter, give or take.
Going on this weight, the KV6/ Td4 sport springs would be to stiff at the front, giving it a slight nose up look.
If "Sport" springs aren't available for the 1.8 then there's only a couple of options. Finding some correctly weighted after market springs is one option or you could drop the spring seat on the strut, allowing the use of factory Sport springs.

Microcat lists reb000080 and reb000090 as front springs specific to 1.8


That would only give a standard height though...

Would be nice to know what the difference is between the 2 springs...

Another theory would be pre 01MY springs, as the car is lighter than post 01MY cars. And they have an option for A/C + non A/C. The non A/C springs may be a bit lower/softer...

My welding skills wouldnt be upto the job of supporting a spring seat :eek:
