i need to replace rotten sun roof on my freelander 1,has any body got any how to instructions and pictures on this task.it also drips water slightly from condensation is this a common fault with this type of roof.any help on this task would greatly appreciated.thankyou.

I replaced mine within a couple of weeks after purchase, you will need sunroof glass in comes with it's surround, these tend to corrode in the front corners, not a bad job to fit few holding screws takes about an hour I have some photo's I will try and find them out later today for you.

PS found them here they are below hope they help Arctic

Be care when takeing out and putting the sun roof back in as the edges are sharp I learnt about that after doing in and then finding a couple of cuts in my leather seats

thanks for your info and pictures i am sure they will help me a great deal when i come to remove it when the weather permits.

first thing is to take your glass out this is easy just sit inside the car look at the sun roof and each side there is a cover covering the screws one on each side a little screw driver if they are tight then take out the screws and from the out side take the glass off then you will need to take the roof soundproofing / headlining out taking of all the handle grips and pulling the door seal down , next take the bar going from one side to the other off then undo all the nuts holding the sunroof in, then you can take the sun roof frame out .hope this helps

I need to do this job too. I've had enough of the water dripping on me at every turn. As sods law would have it, it only drips on the drivers side!

Teddywood, it appears to me that the only corrosion on mine is on the steel sections that are bonded to the glass itself at the front corners. Does removing the glass only still require the headlining to be removed?

No removing the head linings is only needed when doing the whole job but before you remove the glass check the drains one in each corner are not blocked up .
