Hi chaps,

I have a question beaause im little confused.
I bought my Fl from Italy and import it to Macedonia. In the oiginal documentation says 71.6kw but on the custom invoice it syas 60kw. I saw another case today where another dude was sellling a fl with 60kw. So i like to ask you are there different engines until 2000year from Rover engine or there is some mistake in the customs catalouge?

Thanks
Zoki

If it's an L series engine came with an intercooler and without. I thought on non intercooler L series engines were fitted to the Freelander. I could be wrong though.
Non intercooler is 63Kw
Intercooler is 78Kw
So you can see if you have the intercooler to find out what you have.

Hey gays,

Thanks for the replay.
I think i have the intercooler. From the turbo the hose goes in the front side cooler and from there it goes in the engine air inlet.

But in the italian documents it says 71.6 kw not 78.

So so strange...

From me Freelanderering book ses:

"The L series diesel had Bosch two-stage fuel injection and a single overhead camshaft driven by toothed belt. In Freelander form, it had undergone some 40 modifications from its original saloon car form, and these included a relocated turbocharger (and consequently a special manifold design), a bigger starter motor and alternator, and an oil cooler.

As tuned in the Freelander, the engine had 94bhp at 4,200rpm and 154lb ft of torque at 2,000rpm. Car versions (in the Rover 620 models) had 105PS (103.6bhp) at the same 4,200rpm and a very similar 155lb ft at 2,000rpm, and an 86PS (84.9bhp) version was made available in the Rover 220D and 220SD from October 1995. It was a frugal and flexible engine, although in the Freelander it could never be described as either exciting or vigorous!"

But many pages later ses:

"...All the L series diesels deliver the same 96bhp at 4,200rpm and 155lb ft at 2,000rpm..."
