Hi everyone i have a 1.8 t reg freelander which has been good as gold until yesterday, I got into it and tried to start it, the starter turns over fine but will not kick in! I did the basic checks, battery is fine, compression is good, spark at the plug etc etc. Anyway i turned off the ignition and turned it on again and noticed there was no priming sound from the fuel pump, checked the fuse box inside the car and the fuel pump fuse had blown. I replaced it with anothe 10 amp fuse and tried again and it blew the fuse straight away. So i then disconnected the fuel pump under the rear seat replaced the fuse again and tried to start and the fuse did not blow, this leads me to believe the fuel pump is knackered? would anyone agree before i go and buy another fuel pump? many thanks in advance for you help.

Looks like it, either that or a short in the wiring. Try testing with a volt meter at the pump wiring plug when switched on to see you are getting 12v, but very likely just a faulty pump.
