Hi,

I have just purchased a pair of STC53077 Side Protection Bars off Ebay which are missing the fixing bolts. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me the length and size of the bolts required  . I think they may be M6.

Thanks,

Chris.

Hi there - yes the bolts are M6, you will need 8 of them (4 each side). The ones in the kit are about 30mm long, but anything around this length should be OK, as they go into the void in the chassis member.

THe holes for the bolts will already be in your chassis, although the vertical ones will probably have tape over them (round paches). If your Freelander has never had steps fitted, you will also need nut inserts (rivnuts or nutserts are other common names) and the tool to fit them. These are like rivets but threaded, and inserted into the chassis holes to take the bolts.

Hope this helps

Dave
