I have a freelander 2 . 2007 model 2.2 engine td4 hse. Got a new battery but not sure if its the correct one. Can anyone tell what the correct battery amps and cca shoud be .and which is the best one to get please.

Batteries are bought by number. The FL2 needs an 096 or 110, providing it's not got stop, start.
If it's got stop, start, then it needs the AGM versions of those numbers.

Getting a premium brand of battery, generally get you a more CCA and AH ratings. ;)

Thanks for that. I have got a 096 but they have different amps and cca. My car everytime the temperature drops to about 5 degres sometimes it gives problems starting the car. Some i am not sure is the cca of my battery is too low for the car. Thats why im trying to find out the correct amps and cca for the car battery.

As your car had the extra earth strap fitted from the battery terminal to the starter motor, as most came out of factory with just a short earth from battery to inside wing, if not get one fitted and you will have no more trouble starting in cold weather as long as your battery is good.

LR fit an 80Ah battery with 700cca to the FL2.

If it's got stop/start then buy an AGM type. If it's not got stop/start then buy a normal lead acid battery.

The 096 and 110 size numbers may not provide that capacity of battery so it's worth looking out for.

Many thanks i will change the one i have because its 72ah and 680cca .

The difference between a 680 CCA and 700 CCA is nothing, in fact a different test rig will show that much variation.

I suspect the problem is elsewhere.

I will do that thank you very much. Where did buy the earth cable from and whats it called.

Do you have a volt meter you can use to measure the battery voltage before starting the car after leaving it for 2 days. Also measure the battery volts when the engine is running (careful where you put your fingers/hair when the engine is running)
