Four red flashes from kicker lite????

Hey guys,
Ok so I'm not new to this site but I can't remember my password but I'm in need of some urgent help.
It's the dreaded EAS which I know has been covered time andtime again and I have spent hours going through the forums but to no avail.
Ok so I bought my old P38 2.5D back as it had not moved inseven months, rear end was down (as it used to go down but I had replaced allthe bags) and the 35mph warning was on..

so my next step was the valve block,so I got a EAS valve block refurbishment kit (O rings for the valve block andcompressor kit) fitted that ok, as per; http://paulp38a.com/range-rover-p38/...e-block-renew/
I also bought a EAS kicker lite, now when I put it all backtogether I plugged in the kicker and it went blue and started to flashgreen.... But then I turned it on the warning came back, plugged it back insame thing happened.. done this a few times, then I remembered someone on heretelling me how to override the compressor (thinking that it may just not haveenough air in) after doing that it NOW goes Blue and then flashes RED FOURtimes!! which according to the manual means "no reply to wake up"
Since then I have cleaned all the connections with someelectric cleaner, including the height sensors, checked for corrosion, took thefuse board out cleaned that, checked the fuses, checked and cleaned the connections in the EAS department.
Sometimes when I start it, it gives the warning but insteadof giving me all four lights it gives me the top two like it's trying to go up,but of course it's not going to go anywhere all the time it won't wake up!!!
So can anybody tell me where the alarm clock is please?
(And just for the record, I would like to keep the airsuspension system so I'm not looking for the coil option unless it is the lastresort)

I guessed as much but as said I have bypassed the compressor via relay 20, which I heard running but still nothing?

My first thought is, it has lost some sort of signal to get the valves to work, but that is a complete guess any other explanations would be gratefully received
 
You know my worst thought is that the ECU has decided to pack up, I didn't want to say that's what I'm thinking because it put's the thought into peoples heads and may distract from another fault.
I have tried to up plug the ECU but for some reason it wont open, but I guess Ill have another go at that tomorrow.
Do you know if disconnecting the battery for a couple of days would make a difference?

As i said read the "How to" and do the checks. Compressor circuit has nothing to do with valves, get some air in and then see what you have. You need something to read the faults with for that the kicker is as useful as tits on a Mars bar. You can guess til mid summer and be wrong every time. And considerably poorer.
 
I think tits on a mars bar could be quite handy at a party... and a nice change lol

Ok point taken, I go back to the drawing board and start again but I thought I had covered everything... would the £20 jobbies from Fleabay be any good?

Compressor will not run if ecu has logged faults the very reason op is trying to clear faults with diagnostics he has. The kicker will do just that if it can communicate. 9 times out of 10 cleaning the ecu contacts will provide results ! :)
 
If the car has sat there that long you can't just expect it to go up you need the storage tank to fill up first , takes about 8mins or so with engine running and a door left open , after that close door try again . The two light are the position its in and the one the that is flashing is the hight selected fill your tank !

If you leave some tyres with out moving for year they can go flat .
Pump it up and use it its fine :)

Can anyone tell me though as I have bypassed the compressor and left it for 10 minutes to run would that not fill the tank?

And what of the electrics in the valve block.

Not if the diaphragm was not being closed it wouldn't. Any air it made would go straight out of the exhaust port.

I am well aware of foibles of EAS, i am trying to establish if his compressor is making good air it may not be running because thermal switch has failed he needs to check that. He needs EASunlock minimum to be able to work on EAS. A kicker tells you nothing. He could have had EASunlock from Keith for a fraction of the cost of a kicker, as long as he owns a laptop to run it that is the best option.
 
Just because you can run the compressor does not mean it produces pressure. You need diagnostics to find out what is going on. If it's stood for 7 months it could even be that mice have eaten the pipes.
Nothing will happen as long as there are fault codes present and a kicker will not clear a permanent fault.

Point is also Keith, that you can run the compressor all year but if the diaphragm is not closing, because of an hard fault, it will never fill tank. That is why i told him to read "How to" and go through checks and get diag from you.

I didn't dispute that, but as you have said many times, start at the beginning, no air, no worky.:)

No you didn't Keith but others did slightly cloud the issue. The Kicker will sort a glitch but won't tell you anything about why the system is down. Even the EASunlock will not tell you about compressor faults. But i think if something has been stood for that length and after the work that has been done something better than a Kicker is needed unless you are very lucky. And yes the beginning is always a good starting point. As you quoted "No airy, no worky".:):)
 
Are we talking the BBS 'Basic Bits' EAS Reset device or the EAS Kicker from BBS....cos the Kicker does read and display faults....

EDIT: Ignore me - didn't see the Lite on the end of the post....too much Mead over the New Year! :eek:
