Foul language...... PRE WARNING

I've been following the various threads on this issue over the last few days and thought I'd have my two pennorth.
I don't find the actual swearwords offensive, although the "c" word grates a bit and is one I wouldn't use in conversation or on here - just a personal view.
Let's face it, many people use the other words in every day conversation and any kid who's old enough to work out how to access and read this forum will have heard them before.
In terms of causing offence, it's the context in which the words are used that's important. In fact, offence can be caused without using bad language by being racist, sexist, homophobic, islamophobic and so on.
Whether or not someone is offended, depends mainly on their personal view, tolerance level and frame of mind. The only way to be sure of avoiding offending anyway is to say nothing, which somewhat defeats the object.
My expectation of the mods would be to deal with the racist, sexist, homophobic etc stuff and not get hung up on particular words.
This is a great forum and, so far, I have not seen anything that I think is truly offensive when taken in its proper context.

Erk!

I only came here because Im new to defenders and sick and tired of pants freelanders. I registered because I thought this was a place to get advice support and a severe ragging. I dont give a flying <insert expletive of choice> what language people here use so long as I understand it. I think many internet forums end up going down the tubes because they get watered down - you cant appeal to everyone. (Unless you are Billy Connoly - everyone loves Billy and he swears better than anyone on here!)

YER ****. . . .

I loved my freelander, If it was in the least reliable I would have kept it. The TD4 may have been fine but the 1.8 was trouble waiting to happen. My 2nd engine was looking about to blow in the last couple of weeks, luckily the noisy rear diff kept the garages attention and they still took it as trade in.

Dont want to offend the freelander owners out there... but the early 1.8 was womens knickers. If it had been reliable it would have stolen the market.
