Right, I am an ar$e.

Full of the joys of pouring 83p/l vegetable oil into my 200Tdi 110, I managed to drop the cap from the 6th 3 litre bottle into the fuel tank. C0ck.

I am fairly new to landies, but I imagine there is a fuel filter in line somewhere? If it even gets that far? Will it even get into the fuel line from the tank to the engine? It's about the size of a 10p piece. And it's green. Not that that's even remotely important.

Also, my calculations re. using SVO in the first place assume that you get the same MPG from veggie oil as you get from diesel - is this actually the case? Anyone got any numbers on this?

Cheers,

Vulch

I think it will float about and be just fine, let me know if it does make it through the fuel pickup strainer (like a sieve) and along the 4/6mm ID fuel pipe. The 5 micron fuel filter SHOULD stop it getting to the injection pump.

Regarding the fuel consumption with the SVO it depends actually. If your timing is set up nicely and you put SVO in it should give you better performance and consumption. If the timing is a bit retarded to start with and you put the SVO in it, it probably will not give better performance or consumption, consumption will even go up, if your timing is a bit advanced it will actually work even better on the SVO.

I have heard someone say oh bio and veg is rubbish no power, drinks more fuel - the timing on his car was way off.
