Has anyone got any ideas why my foot brakes is sticking on every time I use it? I have to put my foot underneath it to release the brakes.

No the pedal goes down about 2 inches when braking and just stays there when I take my foot off. The brake is still being applied when my foot is off the pedal.

Where are the return springs on these discovery 1's? Just been looking at your discovery, it looks like you've really got to know your land rover!
I've gotten to know mine inside out and upside down so to speak lol

The spring fits at the pedal pivot in the foot well.

Easy to do just fidly and awkward.

There is also a plunger spring inside the brake master cylinder, these have also been known to fail.
