Dear All,
I fear the worst, but will ask for your considered opinions on the latest. My 300tdi has a thirst, mostly for coolant, about 1 litre a week. When I look in the header tank after a run and it has reached operating temperature, there is evidence of "foam". Does this mean a return to my mate with the "big" hammers or is there something I am missing. Other relevant details are that this is its second engine, the last owner managed to boil the previous one on the motorway. When she eventually stopped bits of engine were spread all round the engine bay!
