FL 2 Bulb connector

Hi everyone, I've got a FL2 2013 and I've got a problem!

The main bulb on the drivers side headlights went off today, got the new bulb from a LR garage, but they discovered that the connecter has melted..

And they told me they don't do these parts individually..

So I have to go to a car electronics specialist to see what they can do...
Does anybody know roughly how expensive this job would be?

Bay of E or a breaker might be better and quicker

I had an indicator bulb go on my '99, replaced it and that went shortly after, so investigated.

The connector in the lamp housing (that the bulb contacts with) had burn out. I managed to 'fill' the burnt hole with solder and it did provide a 'fix' that lasted for a while, but the solder eventually fell out or melted. In the end I replaced the lamp housing, took it off my parts car that I had bought. That's probably your best bet.

If it's a standard H7 bulb? Then the bulb connector is a couple of quid tops for the part + however much it costs to solder it in. If it's an HID, then it'll be more expensive, but not much so I wouldn't have thought.

Can you cut off the melted bit, leaving as much of the loom as possible and then add standard crimp connectors?

You need to pay attention to what wire goes where, but my 300 is done like that, as the connectors always fail.

Fl2 may have some non standard spades on the bulb for all I know though.

I took it to the car electrical specialist today, I've had to order a HB3 bulb socket?? On amazon which is around £6 and its getting fixed on Friday
