Fitting VDO oil pressure gauge

Hi all,

I'm planning to fit a VDO oil pressure gauge (amongst others) to my Defender TD5 but don't know whether to go for 0-5 bar or 0-10 bar range. What's the normal oil pressure range for the TD5 engine, please? If it's never normally over 5 bar (about 75 psi) then it's the low range one for me!

Also, what size threads do I need for the T piece?

Reliefe valve cracks at 4 bar, so the 0 - 5 bar would be plenty.

Any ideas on the thread sizing? VDO do a variety of T pieces but they don't seem to have a listing for Land Rover!

Think it may be an NPT tapered thread but no idea what size. Pretty sure its not metric.

The 5 bar gauge will do it:
Pressure at idle (Cold) 3.0 bar (43.5 lbf.in 2 )
Pressure at 3500 rev/min (Hot) 1.5-3.0 bar (21.75-43.5 lbf.in 2 )

i dunno about the thread aswell but seeing this pic Defender TD5 Oil Pressure Switch Genuine Land Rover NUC000020 it seems to me that Shifty is right... ask at a store or scrapyard to see one and have a callipers on you then
