Hi, I am going to fir Pro Comp es9000 shocks to my defender 90 300tdi. On the lower fixing point to the axle there is only 1 pair of bush cups/retainers. Is this correct? At the moment on installing the rears, from bottom up, the configuration would be : retaining nut, cup, rubber bush, axle bracket, rubber bush then cup. Is this correct? Do the rubber bushes sit straight to either side of the axle bracket without cups? If this is correct how tight do you tighten the retaining nut? Thanks for any advice. I hope my question is not to incomprehensible

I've just fitted Pro comp shocks all round had the same set up as you discribe. If you notice the rubbers have a large and a small step on either side. The small step will fit into mount hole on axel brackets. They should tighten up ok just watch that the rubber doesn't squash out past edges of the washers. Hope this helps I'll post a pic tomorrow if I get chance

These Pro Comp ES9000 shock absorbers come ready assembled with the bushes and our bush isolation washers on each end,(these bush isolation washers are very important to help stop the pin of the shock wearing away, all our shocks come with them ready fitted), we also fit Nylon Insert T Nuts with these shock because as standard nuts come loose, when you fit these DO NOT over tighten the nuts as there is to much thread on the pins see picture 2, if over tightened it can cause the pin to brake off as the bush cant flex, you can see the bush isolation washers in the Shocks & Springs section of my shop.

Shock Bush Isolation Washers, Two shock Kit

good pictures there but thats the top end . it should be same at bottom.

Thanks to both of you for the replies. The shocks didn't come assembled. The 2 half upper bushes were in 1 bag, in the box. The lower 2 bushes, retaining nut and only 2 cups were in another bag. I thought this strange when I opened them. The shocks that I am replacing have exactly the set up top drive has quoted. Thanks again
