Does anyone know how to fit a dog guard to a P38. i have the brackets and it looks like they might fix to the roof but i cant see any fixings in the roof to attach them to. i don't want to destroy the roof lining or worse still, the roof.
thanks

Mine is hung from the roof, brackets fit just aft of the pillar either side, if you would like a photo let me know and i'll try and put one here for you.

John, i'd really appreciate a photo if you have time. i'm a bit concerned about drilling holes in my first RR. also, i think the dog may be able to overcome blu-tak!!

Hope this helps, if you hold the bracket in place and poke something through the mounting holes you should be able to locate them.

thanks for the photo John. i've had a look and i can't see or feel any holes behind the roof lining. i think i might have to try and remove some of the lining to see behind. it looks like the plastic brackets themselves also protrude some way through the lining.

i have the plastic brackets (as shown attached to the guard in your picture) on the top side (roof side) they have two screws that must screw into the roof. i can't feel any holes for them to screw into though. my brackets look just like yours except that there must be some part of your brackets hidden inside the roof lining. i might try and remove the lining to investigate

i have the two plastic brackets, together with two allen head bolts about 1 inch long for each side. i also have 4 threaded aluminium tubes about 1/4 inch long. i reckon thety must attach to the roof or rooflining and then the allen head bolts will screw into them. it looks as though it may be possible to peel back the roof lining, starting at the pillars either side of the tailgate.
anyone done this or know how its done?
thanks

Just checked mine, it would appear you approach the job from outside of the car, press down on the roof rail cover strip access panels and slide them forward and voila

No, i slid the roof gutter hatches forward and all i can see is three round indentations. Is this where the brackets fit? i don't want to cut holes here because water will be able to get past the sliding cover and through the holes and into the roof lining!
Still very confused i'm afraid

If your not sure, go in to a dealership have a look for a RR with the guard in it, and take some photos, but as always ask first!!

Mine are well trained but I still don't fancy one ****ting me on the back of my head in an accident
